Studying Prayer

A few weeks ago I started asking myself some hard questions about prayer.

Questions like...

"what is prayer and what exactly does it mean to pray?

"why do I pray?"

"Does the Lord just do whatever He wants to whether I pray or not?"

"What is my motive behind the majority of my prayers?"

Now, I know prayer is a way for me to communicate with the Lord. I know that the Lord wants me to pray and that praying honors Him. I also know that praying does things in the spiritual realm.

But, I know there is more to prayer and the best place for me to find out more about this topic is to go directly to the source - The Holy Bible.

I invite you to come along side and study with me. Let's learn more about prayer together.

Using an exhaustive concordance, I looked up all the verses that mention the word "prayed" and I'm reading the entire chapter to gain a better understanding of the context.

So far I've read:

Genesis 20
Numbers 11 and 21
Deuteronomy 9
1 Samuel 1, 2, and 8
2 Kings 4, 6, 19, and 20.

Click the links to read about what is being revealed to me as I study God's Word.

I invite you to come along and study with me!
